Over 20 Years of Teaching Experience!

"I am so impressed with him...He has taught my son and several other children I know. He is very good, plays professionally, deals with children well, and is very dedicated. "
 - Parent, Berleley Parent's Network
John's approach to teaching is comprehensive in that the student will learn rudiments of drumming, while working on songs that are interesting and inspiring at the individual level.
Students work out of books, which can be purchased directly from John. Additionally, they will be asked to describe the type of music that they love. This cross-functional approach allows the student to stay engaged, by working on their own "unique" song(s), and still concentrate on the fundamentals of drumming.

As the student's drumming skill and vocabulary grows, John will continue the challenge the student and provide them with contemporary material that keeps them wanting to study. "I know that by the time a student has convinced the parents that they want to play drums, they've pretty much exhausted all of the other instruments. I make sure that the student gets out of the lesson what is important to him or her, and then make sure that they build a strong foundation for further matriculation."
